Hu-manity.co Launches Fellows Program to Champion Data Freedom and Digital Human Rights

Hu-manity.org Fellows will provide expertise and insights to link important projects, groups, and initiatives that drive adoption of Hu-manity.co’s technology efforts to provide choices associated with personal data.

Princeton, New Jersey – July 3rd – (BUSINESS WIRE)

Hu-manity.co, the company created to develop human rights and corollary sovereign laws in a distributed manner, launches the Hu-manity.org Fellows today to champion the digital rights of choice and continuous consent for everyone, everywhere.

“Everything we do increasingly is collected as data. We each produce a digital data trail daily.

We want to ensure you have choices of how your personal data sets impact your life and your community” shares Dr. Shari Langemak, who joins as a new Fellow and has an MD, PhD, and MBA. Shari has strongly advocated for personal healthcare data rights for individuals in Germany for several years.

As both a freedom and as a data right, we should be able to decide for ourselves the contexts where sharing personal data sets benefit us and our communities — or opt to not share certain data sets if we so choose. This includes the ability to update specific data sharing consent clauses or limitations at a more granular level.

The Fellows represent a plurality of perspectives, including a diversity of expertise in areas including legal, finance, healthcare, education and commerce include: Keerthika Subramanian, JD; Derry Goberdhansingh; Shari Langemak, MD PhD; Craig Lipset; Stephanie Wander; John Dundas; Mei Lin Fung; Kristen Laughlin; Nathana Sharma, JD; David Bray, PhD.

“As Fellows, we all believe you should be able to update your choices at any time about when, where, and with whom you are willing to share personal data. As both a freedom and as a data right, we should be able to decide for ourselves the contexts where sharing personal data sets benefit us and our communities — or opt to not share certain data sets if we so choose” explains Dr. David Bray, Executive Director for the People-Centered Internet coalition and a new Fellow joining the Hu-manity movement as Chief Philanthropy Officer. “I’m excited as the Hu-manity.org Fellows all are positive #ChangeAgents who seek a world where we each can decide for ourselves how we share our data to benefit local communities, organizations, and the world as a whole.”

“We need the Hu-manity Fellows as too often we are given only a single, one-time choice about our personal data. We believe you should have multiple choices” states Mei Lin Fung, one of the original pioneers of Customer Relationship Management, co-founder of the People-Centered Internet coalition, and a new Hu-manity Fellow. “We believe you should be able to update your data choices at any time.”

About the 31st Human Right

“Everyone has the right to legal ownership of their inherent human data as property”

Hu-manity.co

#31 is the first decentralized human right, and an addition to the existing 30 rights adopted by the United Nations in 1948 and bestowed to every human at birth. Hu-manity.co is enabling the creation of decentralized human rights to address the broad humanitarian issues not encompassed by our current 30 human rights. #31 empowers all humans to claim legal ownership of their inherent human data. Individuals will enjoy greater levels of security, privacy, and control while qualifying to receive consideration via multiple forms of currency; corporations will enjoy blockchain-backed explicit consent and authorization to use inherent human data. Starting August 2018, humans globally will be able to download a blockchain App onto iPhone and Android mobile phones, claim the 31st human right, and communally exercise the new decentralized right to legal ownership of their inherent human data.
